Small Claims Court

The Small Claims Court is a branch of the Superior Court of Justice, with a monetary jurisdiction of $35,000.00. This means that an individual and/or corporation can sue someone in Small Claims Court for property damage, breach of contract etc. up to that amount.

The Small Claims Court contains strict limitations and rules that can be detrimental to a case if not followed correctly. There are also many steps involved in the process which can be overwhelming to a self-represented party. By hiring legal representation, you will not need to worry about completing any Court forms, being cognizant of important deadlines, and you will have someone to speak in front of the Court on your behalf. At SLS, we have successfully represented both corporations and individuals in their debt recovery.

The Paralegals at SLS are highly qualified legal professionals, whether you have been served and need to file a defence or are just starting to initiate your action, we can help.
